John B & Marie (Jauquet) Delwiche
John Baptiste & Marie Delwiche
John Baptiste Delwiche (1845-1922) was born in Saint Denis, Belgium and immigrated to the US in 1855. Marie Josephe Jauquet (1856-1922) was born in Meux, Belgium and immigrated in 1870. They were married in 1873 and lived in Namur where they raised 11 children.
Homestead
The family lived at this home in Namur. It was originally the home of John Baptiste's parents, Guillaume and Mary (Dupire) Delwiche, where Fr. Daems said mass before a church was built in the community. For many years, Namur was known as "Delwiche" because it was where people went for mass.

Moses, the oldest child, married Leonie Conard (1885-1963) in 1902.
Heloise Delwiche Conard 1876-1962
Heloise married Desire Conard (1877-1918) in 1900.
Elizabeth Delwiche 1879-1962
Elizabeth "Lizzie" married John Calbat (1875-1904) circa 1900. She married Alexis Parins (1873-1907 at left) in 1906 and Prosper Degrandgagnage (1880-1963 at right) in 1909.
Celina Delwiche Baudhuin 1881-1954
Celina married Edmond Baudhuin (1880-1944) in 1904. They are pictured with granddaughter Blanche Jadin.
Joseph Delwiche 1883-1936
Joe married Catherine "Kate" Maccaux (1888-1971) in 1907.
Arthur Delwiche 1886-1933
Arthur married Adele Bodart (1889-1978) in 1912.
Frank Delwiche 1887-1946
Frank married Fulvia Delfosse (1887-1934) in 1916.

Grave at St. Mary of Snows Cemetery
John Baptiste and Marie died one month apart in 1922. John's obituary attributes his death to "grief over the death of his wife." They are buried at St. Mary of the Snows Cemetery on Pit Road. Courtesy: Find a Grave
