Parents and Younger Siblings
Hubert's father Jean-Joseph Jauquet, brother John Baptiste and mother Marie Joseph Macaux and sisters Marie and Josephine. Photo was taken in Belgium shortly before the family left for the United States in 1870. They settled in Namur near Jean-Joseph's brother, Pierre, who arrived in 1856.

Nicolas Joseph Jauquet (left), Nick Macaux (center) and Hubert Jauquet. Nicolas and Hubert are the older sons of Jean-Joseph and Marie Joseph. Nick is their uncle, Marie Joseph’s brother. Picture was taken in Namur, Belgium before the Jauquet family immigrated to the US in 1870.
Hubert Joseph Jauquet
Hubert Joseph Jauquet. Hubert married Clarisse Josephine Collard in 1874. They had two children, Mary and Jean (John) Joseph.
Clarisse Collard Jauquet
Clarisse (at left) is pictured with her half sister Josephine Jacquart and Josephine's son Ernest Renard in about 1875. Clarisse is the daughter of Martin Collard and Julie Defaux; Clarisse died in 1879.
Hubert purchases his land
Warranty deed from FB Gardner Company to Hubert Jauquet on July 31, 1876 for a forty acre lot in Union Township. On the same day, his older brother, Nicolas Joseph, purchased an adjoining 40 acres from the same company. Each paid $136.65 for their lot.
Condolences
Letter from his uncle Nick Macaux (in Belgium) upon hearing of the death of Hubert’s wife, Clarisse. No cause of death is mentioned but Nick refers to it as an illness without a cure.
Older brother Nicolas Joseph
Nicolas Joseph Jauquet, taken in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Joseph (as he was called) is Hubert’s older brother. He married Flora Gilot in 1878. He died in 1883 at age 33 and his land was later added to Hubert's farm. Flora remarried Francois (Frank) Renard.
Oldest sister
Josephine Jauquet is Hubert’s sister, the third child of Jean-Joseph and Mary Joseph. She married Joseph Delwiche. Her given name was Marie Josephine.
Younger sister
Marie Jauquet is Hubert’s younger sister, the fourth child of Jean-Joseph and Mary Joseph. She married John Baptiste Delwiche in 1873. Her given name was Marie Josephe.
Younger brother
John Baptiste Jauquet is Hubert’s younger brother and the youngest child of Jean-Joseph and Mary Joseph. He married Marie Baudhuin. John, Marie and their son, Max, lived on the farm with Hubert.
Guns from Belgium
The Jauquet family left Belgium without settling their affairs so one of the brothers, likely John Baptiste, returned to Belgium later. He was gone longer than expected and returned with these three guns - and nothing else. Family legend was that he had some fun before returning.
1895 Property Taxes

1910 Census
1910 Census showing Hubert and his son Joseph along with his brother John Baptiste, wife Marie and son Mike (Max) living together on the farm. It would not be long before Marie and Max passed away, leaving Hubert, John Baptiste and Hubert's son John on the farm.
Hubert's Citizenship
Hubert’s Certificate of Naturalization; he became a US citizen on February 6, 1912.
Farm handed down through generations
The Jauquet farm in 1948. When Hubert died in 1919, the farm had passed to Hubert's brother John Baptiste and son Joseph who then ran the farm together. In the early 1930s, Hubert’s grandson Hubert Lampereur and his wife Lema (Chaudoir) moved to the farm to help John Baptiste and Joseph.

Mary married Charles Lampereur and had eight children: Hubert, Josie (Mathy), Joe, George, Laura (Phillips), Mina (Rass), Florence (Alsteen) and Clara (Drzewiecki).

The Jauquet farm 144 years later
The Jauquet farm today (June 2020) owned by Chris Lampereur. Chris is Hubert’s great-great grandson. The small building closest to the road was the first structure built which served as the original home.
